Who Can Use Medical Marijuana?
Conditions for which medical marijuana may be recommended by physicians:
- Cancer
- Multiple sclerosis and other spasticity disorder
- Epilepsy and other seizure disorders
- Glaucoma *
- Intractable pain *
- Hepatitis C *
- Crohn's disease *
- Anorexia and other diseases resulting in nausea, vomiting, wasting, appetite loss, cramping, seizures, muscle spasms and spasticity *
Conditions for which medical marijuana use was denied when petitioned to the Washington State Medical Quality Assurance Commission:
- Illnesses resulting in insomnia or post-traumatic stress disorder
- Bipolar disorder or chronic depression
- Depression and severe anxiety
* When symptoms are unrelieved by standard treatments or medications.
